Nomad in Action #1

Posted on Jan 22, 2015 by Rob

We've gotten more Youtube videos featuring the Nomad than we ever expected. We love watching them to find out what users are doing with their machines but this one blew us away.

Craig had a production part with a problem, the parts were the wrong size.  Since they were injection molded, any changes take a lot of time and money. So what did he do? He built a clever fixture with a 3D printer to hold the parts while his Nomad cut them to size.

This was actually one of the applications that we had in mind for the Nomad when we were designing it- to have a machine that would be cheap enough and reliable enough that it could be used in manufacturing for rework or to perform a single operation that might be difficult another way.

Well done Craig.
