UPDATE: Bob at CNCCookbook.com has posted more information about The Big News at [CNC Cookbook](https://blog.cnccookbook.com/2014/12/09/breaking-news-shapeoko-carbide-3d-join-forces/)
We can finally announce one of the things we've been working on for a while: Edward Ford, the guy who created the Shapeoko CNC router, is now a partner at Carbide 3D. We've been working on making this happen for months and we're thrilled to finally be able to tell everyone about it.
#### What does this mean for Carbide 3D?
There are lots of people who can make one of something but not a lot of guys that can design a product for mass production and then ship and support it. Ed is one of the guys who can do it all. Getting a guy like that on the team is a huge win.
#### Shapeoko is now a Carbide 3D Product!
That's the other part of the "why", we're now going to be making the Shapeoko. Adding another product to the mix, and one that's easier to manufacture than the Nomad, puts Carbide on a great path for the future.
#### Check out the New Shapeoko 3!
See what we've put together with Ed with the Shapeko 3. The Shapeoko 3 takes everything that's Ed has learned from two previous versions and what we've learned from our Nomad experience. It's the best Shapeoko yet.
#### Stay Tuned
It goes without saying that we've got lots more planned- we'll be announcing more soon.
